A truly rare example of a "Custom Color" Strat in "Ocean Turqouise Metallic"! This late 1965 example at one point featured a Fender "body guard" which though originally intended to protect the finish did cause some cosmetic damage over time. As a result the guitar was wax buffed in some areas. Despite this cosmetic issue the guitar features an original Dec. 1965 neck with October '65 pots, large headstock with transitional Fender logo, and the original hardshell case. Careful color matching of the finish under the guard and in the neck pocket confirm this to be a genuine "Ocean Turqouise Metallic" finish; a true rarity and one of the better looking Custom Color finishes in our opinion. This era Strat are often some of our favorite sounding and this example is no exception. This guitar would be a highlight of any collection and is a monster player, to boot.
