1959 Kay K162 Bass "Sunburst"
Chicago's Kay company was second on the heels of Fender introducing their hollowbody K162 electric bass in 1952. Budget friendly with great tone, it was a success in the electric blues scene in Kay's native Chicago, often referred to as the "Howlin' Wolf bass" due to Andrew "Blueblood" McMahon use of the model alongside the blues legend. This is a great playing example with a straight neck, low action, and beefy tone from the Kay blade pickup. The bass is all original with moderate play wear, includes original soft-shell case
