1959 Fender Stratocaster & Matching High Powered Twin Amp
In the world of vintage guitars, provenance and originality are everything, and it simply doesn't get more complete than this.
This fully original 1959 Stratocaster with a matching High-Powered tweed twin was purchased brand new in the summer of 1959 as a high school graduation present. The original owner sold it to a band mate who has kept the guitar, amp, and case in virtually "like-new" condition ever since! It includes all or the original hang tags, as well as a copy of the promotional photo for the 60's band the owner played in, and a copy of their set list. Talk about a time capsule!
The lightweight and resonant hardtail Stratocaster features a three-tone sunburst finish with a dark slab rosewood fingerboard, clay dot inlays, "spaghetti" logo, and a trio of original single coil pickups. The top-of-the-line tweed amplifier still sports the original tubes and sounds fantastic.
Either of these pieces on their own would be highly desirable, but to have the matched set, complete with all of the history and provenance is truly a unique opportunity for any collector. The tweed on both the amp and case is some of the cleanest we've ever seen. If you are looking for the crown jewel of your Fender collection, this is it!
