1968 marked the return of the familiar Les Paul body style after having been replaced by what we now know as an SG. In 2018 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the return of the Les Paul, the artisans at Gibson's Custom Shop offered a limited run of reissues of the 1968 Les Paul Standard. With a pair of "Soapbar" P90 pickups, comfortable neck profile, ABR-1 bridge and stop tailpiece, as well as a heavy aged Gold Top finish, these guitars are a faithful recreation of the originals. This example includes all of the original case candy and paperwork. This was a very limited run and few examples with the heavy aged finish were available making this a great choice for any collection!
